Adult Ministry

Broad Street has an active Adult Ministry that is open for members and non-members alike. A list of upcoming events is in The Messenger each week and is also posted on the bulletin board across from Triplett Hall.

Adult Council

Committee of chairpersons from various groups, Sunday School class presidents, and at-large members. The Adult Council meets three times a year for planning. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting.

Jubilation 

Annual two-day event for senior adults, held at the Marriott Meadowview Resort in Kingsport, TN. It’s a time of fun, fellowship, classes, worship opportunities, and Bible study. Reservations are required.

Led by Mary Ketchersid. Meets in the church parlor at 11:15 am on Wednesdays September through May. A delicious meal is served for a cost of $6; meal reservations are required. Following lunch is a book study.

 

TV Loop for May 26th.031Mission Trips

Broad Street plans for two mission trips each year. These trips are led by Dr. Bill & Jackie Johnson. Preparation for these trips includes packing and labeling pills, packing Bible School supplies, or working on other projects. If interested in helping in this area, call the church office, 476-5586, for the schedule.

New Year’s Eve at Noon

 A time for fun, games, lunch, music, hats, horns, and spiritual time as we bring in the new year together. RSVP is required.

 

 

Over 80's Banquet 2013.005“Over 80 Club” Luncheon

Annual event held in April. It is a time to celebrate and honor our adults 80 years old and above. At the luncheon, there is an induction of those turning 80 during that calendar year. Families and friends are invited to attend. Lunch is free to those over 80. RSVP is required.

 

Prime-Timers

An inter-denominational travel group led by Jackie Johnson, Gwen Dethero, and Pat Hardin. A typical month finds the group taking one or two day-trips. These trips might be to a theater, museum, IMAX, aquarium, gardens, house tours, or shopping. Lunch is almost always a part of each trip. Special events are planned for Christmas and New Year’s, and we usually schedule at least one overnight trip during the year. The cost per person depends on the trip. Reservations and payments are usually required prior to the trips.

Meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 11:15 at a location to be announced for lunch.  Dutch Treat.  The requirements are to be over 50, wear a red hat, and have fun.

Led by Jackie Johnson. Meets in the church parlor at 11:15AM on Wednesdays beginning the latter part of May through August. The cost for lunch is $6; meal reservations are required. Programming for Summer Lunch Bunch is of a lighter nature.
