Rise Against Hunger is an international non-profit hunger relief organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations. Founded in 1998, Rise Against Hunger mobilizes more than 400,000 volunteers each year to package meals for people in need around the globe.

Many of you will remember the day in the Fall of 2019 when the church gathered in Triplett Hall to pack these meals. It was such a great day of mission that many of you asked, “When can we do it again?”

On August 27, 2022, you will have an opportunity to be part of this ministry by helping BSUMC package 15,000 meals. That morning, people of all ages from across our church will work together to make this happen. Children may participate, but they must remain with their parent/guardian. There will also be child care available for nursery through preschool.

After the meal packing is complete, everyone is invited to walk down to our Spring Street Green Space for a Block Party. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, and Blue Grass Music plus activities for children. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the fun.
