December 1

First Sunday of Advent

"Longing"

We light the first candle on the Advent Wreath in each of our three morning worship services, the candle of HOPE. Jeremiah 33:14-16

Hanging of the Greens

Wednesday night at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary

We have our weekly meal together beginning at 5:00, then hear music from all choirs, handbells and praise bands, as we decorate our worship spaces.

Be in Triplett Hall by 6:15 for the Blessing of the Advent Wreath.

December 8

Second Sunday of Advent

"Preparing"

We light the second candle on the Advent Wreath in each service, the candle of PEACE. N*Light*N Youth choir will sing in the Traditional service. Luke 3:1-6

December 15

Third Sunday of Advent

"Expecting"

We have our annual "Service of Lessons and Carols" in the sanctuary at 10:45 am, led by the Chancel Choir, Organist, Strings, and Handbells. Our K-5 children, soloists, and instrumentalists will have a part, as we "Sing for Joy" on this special day. Isaiah 12:2-6

Experiencing Advent

Fourth Sunday of Advent

"Jumping for Joy"

We light the fourth candle, the candle of LOVE. Our pastors will preach a special Christmas sermon, reflecting on Mary's magnificent response to the Annunciation and her visit with Elizabeth. Luke 1:39-55

December 24

Christmas Eve

"Joy to the World,

the Lord has Come!"

Broad Street has 3 services for Christmas Eve

4 pm, 6 pm, and 11 pm

4:00 pm Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary

with Blessing of the Babies, Carols, Communion and Candlelight

6:00 pm Contemporary Worship in Triplett Hall

with an original musical drama,

"Chasing Joy"

11:00 pm Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary

with Carols, Communion, Candlelight, and the Ringing of Bells at Midnight.
